Client: Vince Cable, Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
Role: Digital Content Lead

In 2017 I joined Sir Vince Cable’s General Election team in the Parliamentary Constituency of Twickenham to lead the online, digital campaign and help Vince regain the seat that had been lost in the 2015 General Election.

My approach focused on engaging the public and placing Vince as a key figure in the community, showcasing his genuine enthusiasm for local issues. To do this I created a stream of photo and video content: direct announcements from Vince, clips from public engagements, endorsements from other community figures, Q&A videos submitted by local residents, and more.

Facebook followings saw a 1500% increase and the campaign that I led was praised for contributing to a huge overall victory in the election - overturning the 2015 defeat and regaining the seat with a majority of 10,000 votes.

Shortly after the General Election, Vince became the next leader of the Liberal Democrats and, understanding the importance on digital content, asked me to continue my work for him across both his Leader’s and Local office.

Over the next two years I shadowed Vince at Parliament in Westminster, locally in Twickenham and across the country, in a new role as Digital Content Producer & Director. I was responsible for creating photo and video content that documented his work within the Party, with charities and action groups, and highlighting his public appearances on TV and radio. I produced original content in collaboration with organizations and crafted digital campaigns that would continue to engage the public locally, and now nationally.

Additionally, the Liberal Democrats HQ digital team asked me to create content for them: at national events like the People’s Vote Marches, for campaign material such as Christmas messages, and at the annual  party conference.
